Anna May Beaufort, who played the part of little Susie Ferguson, was indeed a pretty, pint-sized actress. She had a sweet innocence about her that sets her apart from many of the other characters in the series. It is no wonder then that she received such a warm welcome in the eyes of her admirers.

Anne lives with her parents, Henry and Charlotte. Anne has the kind of youth that she shares with her younger siblings and her father's family experiences are very much a part of her life. As she grows up, she develops a love of adventure, love of science, and a strong desire to pursue a career in the field of science. By the time she reaches her teens, she feels she is ready to embark on her own journey. She decides to leave her parents and pursue a higher education.

Anne heads off to live at the Chateau de Cornwall. It is here that she befriends the pretty but lovable Mrs. Webster, and where she spends the next five years preparing herself for what she believes is her ultimate destiny. When a chance meeting with her future stepmother, Mabel Richmond, comes about, there are much surprise and delight on all sides.

Anne continues to learn and grow in her lessons at the Chateau de Cornwall. She also falls in love with Andrew Morton, the son of the head gardener, who happens to be a friend of Mabel's. Andrew's father, having heard rumors of Andrew's relationship with Mabel, takes up arms and the family is put through the ringer. Anne tries to avoid the drama that is occurring around her, but the confusion is enough to drive her to learn more about her family's past. She wonders whether she should follow in her father's footsteps, or stay true to her family's roots.

With her innocence lost and her family's history forced upon her, Anne finds that there is nothing to protect her from falling back into the patterns of old. She begins to fall for the arrogant and egotistical head gardener, Mr. Morton. She is not sure whether she should trust him or not, especially when it seems as if he has a secret agenda for being head gardener.

Anna and Andrew are inseparable, and their bond blossoms even further as they experience the joys of growing up together. The question remains - do they still have to continue their story? With each new chapter that is written, the reader becomes more intrigued and hooked, until the end of their story.

Anna and Andrew meet up with a young boy who has been abandoned by his parents. He has been raised by the aforementioned Mr. Morton, and Anna soon finds herself having to raise him. Along the way, there are plenty of laughs and some heartbreaking moments.

Anna and Andrew continue to grow into their roles as sisters. Their emotional bond grows as the two of them bond over their shared childhood. Anna gets to know Andrew's father, and hefinds out more about his past. And though it may be sad to admit, both have a falling out with their father.

Anna and Andrew run into a new friend, Mathilda, whose life is threatened by a mysterious fire. Her appearance gives both girls great hope. And together, they find themselves sharing many experiences in their quest to save the town. of Green Gables.
